Winter Weather Tips

When freezing weather is forecasted, please find a list of items we highly encourage you to review and implement during the winter months. Hopefully, this can help ensure that your unit is as safe as possible from frozen pipes, water leaks and possible property damage.
 
Vacant Units not on Nightly Rentals:
Set your thermostat to a minimum of 55 degrees.
Open cabinet doors where water lines are located, i.e., kitchen and bathrooms to let the heat get into those areas.

Nightly Rental Units:
Ask your nightly rental company or your manager to check that your unit has heat on (if not rented) and be sure to keep cabinets doors open where water lines are located, i.e., kitchen and bathrooms.

Another option is to shut your water off at the main valve in your unit. You will find your main shut off valve above the hot water heater in the closet area where your hot water heater is located.

Full time Members that live on Property:
You may want to leave your faucets dripping so you have a small dribble of water coming out of them.  If you do this, keep it to a drip, not a stream of water.

Open cabinet doors where water lines area located, i.e., kitchen ad bathrooms.
 
 
DO NOT LEAVE WATER DRIPPING OR RUNNING, FOR ANY REASON, UNATTENDED!
